What to Expect with Your Breast Lift Recovery

Before any surgery it is very important to discuss with your doctor what to expect with a procedure and what to expect about your recovery after surgery. Education is key to having a better experience. This is especially true with plastic surgery. Dr. Jane Rowley knows how important it is to spend time with her patients explaining options, outcome and recovery expectations, and patient cosmetic goals. This is true for breast surgeries as well whether you are planning a breast augmentation, lift, or reduction. For a breast lift, you need to be patient with your recovery and recognize that post-surgery is a process.

First Weeks
Lubbock women can expect to have some bruising, swelling, and pain after breast lift surgery. Always discuss with your doctor any problems you experience with pain management. Some things that can help your recovery immediately after surgery are:

Carefully follow all instructions from your doctor
Keep your body elevated at a 25-45 degree angle, even when you are sleeping
Be careful with any activity that involves bending, lifting, or straining
Wear a compression bra and protective clothing for the recommended amount of time

First Months
You should be able to get back to your normal routine and activities about 4-6 weeks after surgery. It’s important to give your body time to heal and not overestimate how good you are feeling or begin a full range of activities too quickly. When the swelling declines, you will start to see the final results of your breast lift.  Numbness in nipples should go away within the first couple of months after your surgery. And, scars will continue to fade over the next year.

At Rowley Plastic Surgery you can expect the best plastic surgery experience in Lubbock. You know you are in good hands with Dr. Jane Rowley. Schedule your no-obligation consultation today. http://rowleyplasticsurgery.com/
